D.BLACK 45°
is a dark, translucent Stoneboard with a grey-black base color and striking linear structures.
The lines run across the entire stone sheet and mainly follow a direction of approx. 45°. This creates a clear, graphic effect with a modern, almost architectural appearance.
With a total thickness of approx. 3 to 4 mm, D.BLACK 45° as a Stoneboard is particularly dimensionally stable and can be mounted easily directly in front of the desired light source – ideal for backlit walls, bars, counters, furniture fronts and large-format illuminated surfaces with a precise, high-contrast effect.

Stoneboards combine a 100% natural stone surface with an impressive lighting effect. Thanks to their translucent structure, light shines through the thin stone layer and brings out the colours, textures, and natural markings of the stone with exceptional intensity.
Whether used as a backlit wall surface, bar, counter, furniture front, or design element: Stoneboards make natural stone come alive with lighting – during the day as a genuine stone surface, and in the evening as an atmospheric illuminated feature.
Compared to regular Translucent, Stoneboards have a stronger and more dimensionally stable structure. This makes them especially suitable for larger illuminated surfaces and projects where a stable board with a genuine stone surface is required.
Slate-Lite is made from layered stone. Colour variations between individual sheets, quartz veins running through the stone, natural cracks, or slight chipping may occur.
This is not a defect, but rather a characteristic of the genuine natural stone surface, making every Slate-Lite stone sheet absolutely unique.
Multicolour slates generally have a slightly softer stone surface and impress with their rich colours as well as constantly changing patterns and textures.
Mica slates usually have a slightly rougher surface with more homogeneous patterns. A particular eye-catcher is the shimmering effect created by the natural quartzite content in the stone.
Limestones impress with a rather smoother surface and relatively homogeneous patterns and textures.
Sandstones are characterised by a slightly rough, somewhat grainy surface, including minor height differences and, in some areas, smaller raised sections with a greater overall thickness.
Marbles have a split-rough surface with strong veining and raised areas in the surface. Constantly changing patterns and partial structures with greater overall thickness create an exciting overall appearance.
D.BLACK 45° is a mica slate.
In principle, any light source can be used for backlighting Translucent – what matters most is even illumination for a clean lighting effect.
The easiest way to achieve this is with a powerful LED panel. Alternatively, fluorescent tubes, light bulbs, or LED strips can also be used; in this case, a diffuser or frosted glass panel between the light source and Translucent improves light distribution.
Sufficient distance from the light source, approx. 6 cm, also ensures optimal light diffusion. Depending on whether warm white, cool white, or RGB LEDs are used, different lighting moods can be created – from cosy to modern or colourful.
Stoneboards are processed just as easily as our regular stone veneers: cut, bond, press – done. The major advantage over regular Translucent: thanks to their greater overall thickness, Stoneboards are significantly more dimensionally stable.
This makes even large formats particularly easy to handle. In addition, no extra carrier board such as acrylic is required – the Stoneboard can be installed directly in front of the desired light source.
Spot bonding is also possible. This makes Stoneboards especially interesting for large backlit surfaces, exhibition stand construction, shopfitting, hospitality, reception areas, bars, counters, and individual illuminated features.
